Nicole has a gift for putting feelings into words, and I appreciate her honesty in discussing difficult topics. Even though the show has ended, I find myself replaying many of the episodes. I have since joined her Patreon community, and it’s been worth every cent! Thank you, Nicole!

    Life changing
It feels cliche to say it, but listening to Nicole and all of her guests over the years has literally changed my life - how I think about different topics from money, racism, athletic endeavors, and human rights to the simple truth of how important (and refreshing) it is to have real honest conversations about what’s true for the people having the conversation. I’ve learned so much about others, but probably equally as important - about myself - from listening to this podcast. If you are looking for honesty and open to opening up your worldview - listen to this podcast. You won’t regret it!

    My favorite podcast
Nicole’s honest conversations cover everything from mental health to money, grief to sex, regrets to rituals, and all the sticky and beautiful parts about being human. Nicole is hands-down one of my favorite interviewers— I love the easy pace, sincerity, deep-diving, and humor she uses to draw out honest conversations. She also goes the extra mile to bring on guests who offer a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. I love this podcast, and I’m proud to support it with my dollars as a member of Nicole’s patreon community. ❤️

Honesty and Radical Ideas in Practice
By far my favorite podcast and person to listen to think out loud. Nicole isn’t just about platitudes and shelling out “shoulds” or “should nots,” she actually takes ideas and investigates them, and honestly discusses how these actions manifest in her life and the lives of her guests. I’m such an admirer of her listener-sponsored model, and she’s one of the best facilitators of conversation. Period. I owe a lot of joy and reflection to this podcast and hope you find some too.

    My definite fave
The conversations Nicole has on this podcast never fail to change how I see the world. I will never get tired of listening and learning with her!

It lives up to its name, in all the good ways.
It’s truly one of my favorite podcasts, a respite from a world that can feel very surface and consumerist and thoughtless. The conversations are intimate, thought provoking, and life changing in so many ways, big and small. I also can’t recommend Nicole’s Patreon community enough. No surprise perhaps, but she imbues it with intention, humor, and equality-oriented human-ness, just like the podcast. xE

    This is where it’s at.
I’ve listened to Nicole for years and never encountered a podcaster or business owner so aligned with her beliefs. The content of this podcast is rich, profound, honest, and exquisitely diverse. The way I view the world and the people in it has shifted in such good ways since I began listening. We don’t know what we don’t know, and Nicole’s podcast is such a gentle yet strong expansion of worldview. It’s also deliciously funny and refreshingly authentic.

    Favorite podcast & great community
This is absolutely my favorite podcast. I always learn something and feel a little less alone after listening. I love what Nicole is doing with a 100 percent listener-funded model that not only pays guests but pays more to guests who are traditionally underrepresented. The Patreon community is awesome too.

    Invigorating, inspiring, validating, educating
Those are just a few words that come to mind when I reflect on my experience being a listener to Nicole and her podcast series. She always has such interesting guests, each teaching me new things about people, culture, diversity, business, and personal development, but I primarily listen to the podcast to hear Nicole's perspective on all things: the way she puts words together and shares her real time personal observations is a true craft, and I've taken so much personal reflection and development gain from simply witnessing her own.

    BEST OF THE BEST
This podcast has provoked more self-reflection, more honesty, more connection, more concrete change than literally any other piece of media I have ever consumed. Thank you so much Nicole for your relentless pursuit of authenticity and thank you to your guests for their vulnerability and sharing their power!

    THE BEST.
Nicole is literally, simply the best interviewer that I have heard. She's candid, honest, open, and SO genuinely curious. I can't explain how much I've learned from this podcast. I'm profoundly grateful for each and every episode of Real Talk Radio.

    Supremely satisfying and perfectly uncomfortable
These podcast episodes are hilarious and light hearted while being deeply reflective and critical all in the name of growth, learning and improvement for a world where we can all thrive however that looks for us. My number 1 choice lately
I have been listening to this podcast for years, and in the midst of my busy life, this is the only one that I still consistently listen to. I rarely miss an episode, and crave the authentic conversations Nicole so eloquently fosters. Many times I pause the episode in order to process the revelations I am having. In the saturated world of podcasts, having an ad free model is rare and makes it a no brainer for me to support such important work by a brilliant host.

    Truth Telling
Real Talk Radio satisfies every need you may have for truth telling in all areas of life. The topics are smart, introspective and worth listening to again and again. Its the only podcast I listen to regularly, and never muss an episode!
  • EmZeeGee
    I’m dedicated to this podcast
I love these long form interviews, where Nicole and her guests speak deeply about big issues and ideas. The length of the podcast allows time to explore these things, and ambiguity is welcomed; there’s not always a neat and easy answer or end to everything. This podcast has helped me think deeply about my own life and choices and make positive and productive changes, largely because Nicole says specifically it’s not a “quick fix life hacks” sort of program, so the conversations are deep and intentional, and the thinking I have done about those conversations is as well.

I want to be in the room!!
I found Nicole through her weekly email “Notes of Grit and Grace,” which is a window into Nicole’s own joys and struggles. Each week I was blown away by how much I could relate to everything Nicole was going through, even if our life circumstances are actually very different. I finally started listening to the podcast, and binge listened to all the back episodes. Nicole brings in guests with varied life experiences, many of them unfamiliar to me on the surface, but all of which share with me the “beautiful mess of being human.” More than anything, Nicole and her guests inspire me to be more honest in my own life, in my relationships and with myself and that has been transformative for me this past year.

    Always look forward to these
I’ve been listening to Real Talk Radio since it started and love all the interview guests and Nicole’s interview style. I appreciate the diversity of guests and Nicole’s dedication to social justice and the importance of having honest conversations. She’s also motivated me to start long distance hiking and I hope to do my first thru hike next summer!!

    Real Talk Radio is medicine.
I’ve recommended this podcast to all my friends, so here I am writing a review hoping it reaches even more people. These conversations feed my soul. Nicole has a superb interview style and manages to bring on a variety of guests, most I wouldn’t have known about if it wasn’t for my obsession with RTR.

    A consistent favorite
I've loved all of Nicole's work for years now, and this podcast is no exception. It's full of refreshingly real conversations with a wide variety of interesting people. I always end up taking notes, jotting down useful resources, saving impactful quotes, etc. The episodes are just so full of good stuff! This is a favorite for sure.

    Perfect for adulting
I was traveling with my mom recently and forced her to listen to my podcasts. I put on the Mary Laura Philpott episode of Real Talk Radio. I was nervous because if my mom didn’t like it, I couldn’t stop white-knuckling the wheel while driving on the narrow European streets to change podcasts so we would be stuck. The episode open with travel tips which were wonderful and my mom fell mostly silent while listening, other than a few comments here or there. At the end, I asked her if she liked it. She said it was her favorite of all the podcasts we had listened to. Real Talk Radio delivers on the promise of honest conversations without agendas. It feels like a Sex and the City brunch with your closest friends but with a broader group of topics. I wish my friends and I could sit and talk about our money troubles or feeling like a fraud but we don’t. Nicole is an excellent interviewer, allowing a person to speak freely but also asking insightful questions that invite more/in-depth answers and draws the interviewee out of their shell. TLDR version: this podcast can be enjoyed by everyone who needs some friends. Perfect for knowing the truth about adultung (we’re all just doing the best we can!)

Makes Me Feel All The Feels
I love Nicole’s style of interviewing. She’s so skilled at asking questions, the kind that direct the convo to get deep! I love the long duration format, and always walk away feeling so connected to what it means to just be a human. Thanks Nicole for sharing your innate gifts, for holding space for your guests to share so openly, and for being the naturally curious human that you are👍🏼

You don’t want to miss these conversations!
There is very little content that makes me think about think about myself, my place I the world, & how I want to live my life most authentically all without any judgement like this podcast does. These conversations are open, curious, funny, & refreshing. There is not one episode where I haven’t kept thinking about the talk hours (or days!) later!

    Uplifting, Thought-Provoking & Comforting
Each episode gives you the feeling of a good book you can’t put down. I love nothing more than a Sunday night in; prepping for the week; while listening to what feels like two friends in the room next to me, having an authentic and insightful conversation from which I can learn and also feel less alone. A true joy.

    Just Amazing Humans
I barley listen to podcasts, but make space for this one every time a new episode drops. Nicole delves into what it’s like to be a human in the most beautiful way.

It’s Not Called Real Talk For Nothing
This podcast has been a favorite of mine for years! 12/10 recommend Nicole and her interviews. Many of these episodes I have listened to more than once. The guests bring unabashed honesty that hits you right where it matters. Smart and intuitive, Nicole asks the questions that others are afraid to. And I’m glad she does, because I sure as hell am not brave enough. But I will gleefully listen.

    Life changing!
This podcast is ones of my favs and has had the most impact on me personally. I enjoy the longer format as it allows for real depth and honesty beyond typical podcast interviews. Nicole is really skilled at asking questions in a way that keeps it feeling like a natural, honest conversation. There are SO many conversations held on this platform that have planted the seeds for me to make major changes in my life. Nicole and her guests don’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations - they embrace them and normalize them. This stuff is so needed right now. After so many seasons, it’s impressive that Nicole still finds a way to make each conversation unique and impactful. I learn something from each conversation and never feel like “oh, I’ve heard all this before”.

Needs to be in everyone’s every day
This is the way we should all be talking with each other. Discussions that are open, respectful, & curious, get honest fast, get to the heart of matters, and have common threads for every body. This is my go-to podcast and I listen to it most days. I constantly tell anyone about it who will listen. Inclusive and supportive. This show is really the best.

    Make time for it
One of my fav podcasts. It’s a bit longer than my other ones but it’s so worth it. I take breaks between listening mostly to think about all the great nuggets of info. Keep up the great work!!
  • Mkmow
Like listening to myself out loud
Granted, I’ve only listened to one episode so far, but I find myself nodding along like I’m listening to people speak my internal dialogue out loud. There’s something really validating about that. Keep up the good work, and I can’t wait to hear more. :)
  • Of all apps this is best
    One of my faves!!
I am a podcast addicted and THIS is one of my faves. I love how the conversations are organic and meaningful. So good.

Feels like getting coffee with a friend
A friend recommended this podcast to me and now I recommend it to so many of my friends too! I’m a Peace Corps volunteer, which can be very lonely sometimes so listening to this podcast gives me life - esp when you talk about long distance hiking, I never went on a long distance hike but I somehow find that relatable with the struggles of access to water/food/being alone with your thoughts. Keep it up! I love the diverse conversations and your overall vibe! Xoxo
  • Skrackalackin
    I’m here for this.
I love the diversity of the guests in this podcast, but also about no matter who they are, we are getting a glimpse into the depths of their lives. What makes them happy, what makes their eyes light up or makes them mad or sad or makes them get up and work. I come out of every single episode with a new perspective I couldn’t have expected and I’m so grateful for that. I’ve learned so much about myself and the world.

    Absolutely OBSESSED with this podcast!
A friend recommended this podcast to me a few months ago, and since then I’ve been hooked. Nicole does an amazing job not only selecting fabulous guests, but also facilitating insightful conversations. Every episode challenges, motivates, and inspires me in a different way. I especially love the wide variety of perspectives and topics discussed on this podcast - it keeps me on my toes and eager to listen to the next one!

    Great Interviews and Perspectives!
I adore the array of guests on this show. I started listening for the more outdoorsy interviews but I stayed for the fabulous interview style. I have learned so. much. from listening to this show. Honestly, this show got me through many many long commutes and it was the bright spot to many of my days. I recommend this show to so many people so I knew that I had to write a review. Definitely give this one a listen!
  • ASremack
    Smart, thoughtful, honest interviews
Real Talk Radio has quickly become my favorite podcast. The long-form interviews allow me to get immersed in each guest. As a result, other podcasts now feel lacking and too short. Nicole finds the most incredible guests, but more importantly she is truly a gifted interviewer. She's asks throughtful and smart questions, allows her humor to shine through, and also gives her guests a judgement-free space to answer her questions candidly. I come away from each episode with at least one (usually many more) nugget of incredible wisdom. Thank you, Nicole! Keep up the great work. I have loved each new season more than the last!
