JKedisA must listen for composersI had the privilege of being a student in Rich’s Protege Masterclass. His passion, knowledge, and excitement for writing music is infectious, and week to week I noticed my own drive and skill ramping up with each brief. Love the podcast Rich and cheers from California!!

RabbbbsterJuggernaut of creative ideasRich absolutely oozes helpful composing tips and novel approaches to structuring within your DAW, building patterns and melodies, and all sort of fun/experimental sound design. I was lucky enough to discover his TMS podcast during Corona, took his amazing trailer courses and then went on to make him my guru as a member of Protege Masterclass. His energy and attitude are fresh, friendly,, clear and always seem to touch on topics that are on my mind. This is THE podcast I would keep on my phone if I had to choose just one.

MimesisImmensely helpfulI’ve taken most of his classes and it’s improved my compositions greatly. He’s a skilled teacher and entertaining to listen to. I’d venture to say most trailer composers keep their secrets close to the chest but Richard shares what makes his work successful. Thank you for what you do Richard…

Link_DavisInspiration and motivation for trailer composers everywhereThis podcast has kept me motivated through two years of pursuing trailer music. It can be difficult to stick with such an isolated career path long enough to get the ball rolling, but Richard has reminded me many times that I’m not alone in the trailer world through the podcast. Trailer music content is few and far between, keep it up Rich!

Paul DeVitoPure InspirationThis podcast reinvigorated my drive to make music. And the best advice Richard gives doesn’t even have to do with music! Ok, most of it does, but he does an amazing job tackling personal obstacles that all artists face, like perfectionism, motivation, confidence, and burnout. Worth listening to even as a hobbyist composer!

Jen Bo16Great info!I am a composer that has recently expanded into trailer music. I have been trying to teach myself and finally decided to purchase The Trailer Music School course. It is giving me such great information and I am supplementing the course with the podcast and YouTube. This is just fantastic information and I want to also thank Richard for the clarity in which he explains everything. So many tutorials assume a certain level of knowledge, and are difficult to follow along, but this is clear and wonderful. Thanks again

JoetotinoSimply the best!I’m not sure how something can be super epic, yet insanely therapeutic, but Rich has figured it out! I’ve yet to find another show that has me running to my workstation after a listen to make music. Immensely inspiring and eye opening to those wanting to break into this industry. Thanks Rich!

Third Act MikePure GoldAmazing the wealth of information you can get simply for subscribing to a podcast. This expert, award winning composer delivers masterclass material. If you're a trailer composer this is essential listening. If you're another type of musician, you should be curious.

Craig HinrichsMore than just Trailer MusicI have been sharing Richards insights with friends who don’t work at trailer music composition. The fundamental problems that Richard has had to overcome creating trailer music aligns with so many creative endeavors. And btw, we all have creative jobs whether we realize it or not. The structure of a trailer cue is also the structure you should use to ask your boss for a raise. The art of keeping peoples interest is best learned in the wild where it’s manifested and not where it’s kept in a cage and theorized about.

chakratesbeatsInformative and enthusiastic hostThis podcast has helped me to fall in love with the world of trailer music. As a production music composer, I find that I have a lot in common with Richard in terms of our musical backgrounds and values. My favorite episode is the one on dealing with failure. The nature of this industry can make a composer very self conscious, but Richard takes all of this into account and lays out very helpful advice. His interview with Cody Still is also a must listen, if you want to know some of the secrets to writing and mixing this type of music. Good job Richard! Keep it up!

ScottPLHighly recommend for aspiring trailer composers!I have taken several of Rich’s trailer videos and am a member of his Trailer Music School. The podcasts are an amazing add-on to what we learn at TMS. Plus, Rich has an amazing sense of humor. Even if you aren’t aiming specifically to be a trailer composer, you will be highly entertained by Rich and will learn a ton!
