In a world of overly serious, inside baseball religious podcasts, "The Bible is Funny" sets itself apart. From "Cheat Day Devos" that look at Bible sotries from a pragmatic point of view, to "Christina Movies are Funny" which lampoon the sometimes too serious christian media space, "The Bible is Funny" stays funny without being too pretentious.

I think you guys need to have the ninjas crew on your podcast and do more comedy like podcasts. Like NAB

I’ve listened to every episode and it always cheers me up and occasionally I learn some things about the Bible. Also, can I request you guys do a Christian movie review of the 2017 Christian film “Slamma Jamma”? It’s a movie about an ex con who enters a slam dunk competition and helpsout some vague sort of priest with his community outreach (but not before eating lots of moldy bread from the dumpster). I watched this back in 2017 via a Redbox kiosk. My friends and I played “Redbox Roulette” where someone closed their eyes, touched the screen a few times, and agreed to rent whatever movie they chose. Still a favorite memory of mine.

I love this podcast some much whenever I’m sad or want a pick me up I listen to there pod and I cheers me up I highly suggest it you will not be disappointed

I came across The Bible is Funny years ago through Anthony’s devotion book (Curiosities & Uncommon Sense from the Bible). I immediately fell in love with his sense of humor & his hilarious, but still insightful, interpretation of the Bible. Not too long afterwards, I experienced some really deep & damaging church hurt that had me questioning everything. I couldn’t stomach Christians, the Bible & even God sometimes…but in the midst of that darkness, I knew I still needed Him [God]. This podcast was the closest thing I would get to reading the Bible & it helped me to see God’s word in a new, fascinating & funny light. Anthony helped to make the word of God (& God) less intimidating & rule bound & more …relatable & palatable. I am excited to go through the Bible with Anthony & Tim for “Cheat Day Devos” & I love “Christian Movies are Funny”. I still get excited for every episode. Thank you Anthony for allowing God to use you to show everyone His funny side & that He in fact does have a sense of humor. (I mean, we are made in His image. So, we had to get it from somewhere right? lol)

Came here after hearing Anthony on Ninjas Are Buttereflies. I tried…didn’t make it 5 min in. Just not for me. Here’s 5 stars to help anyway though.

I absolutely adore The Bible is Funny! I was working in my yard and had the podcast on, just cracking up out loud. My neighbors saw me and started laughing because I was laughing so hard. Anthony and Tim’s banter is so funny and you can tell how genuine their friendship is. I’ve read through the Bible a few times now and can say that their funny analysis of different stories makes me remember the stories better! So while it might be your “cheat day devo”, it still helps! I catch myself looking for funny verses whenever I read the Bible now. I bought their card game too and everyone always wants to play it. These guys are hilarious!

Really funny and a light-hearted take on the Bible stories and Christian pop culture that nobody else is doing in quite this way. It’s like having a conversation and laughing with friends after church.

I love this podcast, they just find coincidences in the Bible that’s funny and perfect to re-kindle* my love for the Bible ( *trying not to copy off other reviews, I simply can’t describe it better ) and an awesome way to keep that fire burning. **Update** A close family member of mine makes the BEST pastrami melt ever!!! Listening to their dialogue for Abram and Sarai, I laughed so hard. It was the exact way I saw it in my head. Omg! So glad to find people who can see all the humor and funny situations God let people go through in the Bible. Great podcast. So glad to have found it.

On our 25 minute commute to school, the kids and I have our Bible reading time and then we listen to this hilarious podcast. Everyone (ages 10, 11, 13 & 15) is laughing and it’s the best way to roll into our day.

This show is just so fun. My fav episode is episode 3 with Paul boring a teen to death (he lives spoiler alert) I love that this isn’t a show to poke fun at the Bible, just acknowledging the funny in the Bible ( maybe one or two pokes). It really rekindled my love for the bible. Thank you for this

I have two things to say about the coach and his wife. 1. They talk about him not getting his fertility tested, without talking about what that usually involves. 2. My brother was watching this movie a couple years after it was out, and I was walking in and out of the room, so I didn’t realize this was his wife. There was just something about her, maybe her clothing choices, that made me think she was his daughter. I was super confused as to why she was excited about being teen pregnant. Great episode.

I like how you take funny stories from the Bible and relate them to your life and then drop a lesson we can learn from it all. Great stuff.

I think one thing I love best about listening to you is when you laugh through all the funny parts as you tell them. You express the joy that comes from Christ Jesus. So good! It's like spending time with a hilarious friend who always invites someone interesting to the table. Think my favorite part is the walk-through of the Bible story in each episode. It's tough to be funny without being unkind, and Anthony nails it.

I like listening to this podcast before or after devotions. It helps me look foward to reading the Bible, and it helps me to be less stiff after reading devotions. It's a great way to remember that God has humor, and not everything has to be strict or bleak.

This is the perfect podcast to listen to as you are walking your dog for the millionth time, driving kids to/from soccer/band/youth group/etc, doing housework, whatever... the retelling and quippy observations of the more unusual stories in the Bible is refreshing. He may ramble a bit, but who doesn’t?! Keep them coming!

But Russo... where’s your theme music, bruh?? Take a listen, but be warned: you won’t be able to stop your finger from hitting the subscribe button.

This is such a good podcast. Anthony stays real, funny and biblically sound. It is rare to find someone who goes deep in such seemingly shallow context- finding funny parts of the Bible. Also the way he talks about is family is endearing. So the question is- why haven’t subscribed yet? DO IT!
