I really enjoyed to listen to the podcast, the fact that she’s 14 years of age is mind blowing that she shoots at such a competitive level. Steve I’m new to the show but so far so good!! Very humbling to listen to the podcast.

    Great instructor
Steve, you are a great teacher with a great sense of humor. I love the fact you never get tired explaining match mode vs speed mode or accuracy mode. I have learned a ton from your podcast, books and dry fire tune up. I just received my performance journals last week. It s rare you find an instructor who works as hard as Steve- thank you for all you do.

Been shooting IDPA for about year and a half. Read different books (Enos ,Stoeger) all good information. I stumbled across Steve’s podcast and various YouTube videos. All I can say is listen and re-listen. There are countless tidbits of golden information. Is it a silver bullet alone. No you have practice it. But it works. What kind of competitor shooting podcast is this? “The Finest”

    Great podcast.
I learned about Mr. Anderson’s podcast on The firearms nation podcast. While I am not a competitive shooter, I do dry fire for practice as part of my personal routine for my regular job (LE). Steve’s teaching has helped me to have more skill focused training sessions. Thank you.

Don’t just expect your goals to happen....
I’ve used Mr Anderson’s teachings for years.. from C class all the way to M, it’s priceless lessons. The best part is when things click.. that weird way he conveys his life lesson might at first be confusing, but what till you are out on the practice field having breakthroughs.... it’s good medicine. Now write down your goals and Get To Work.

Keep the content, lose the arrogance
Steve obviously knows his stuff but his arrogance gets in the way of his delivery. I’d imagine he’d appeal to more people if he just learned to communicate better.

I have listened to your podcast for about a year. I have been a lazy C class shooter, not practicing on a regular schedule. My wife and I shoot a match or two, almost every weekend. I get out and practice once a week or two weeks. I ebb and flow on my dry fire, once or twice a week. I deal with a fair amount of pain in my feet, knees and low back. You have helped me get my head in the right place and get me looking for a acceptable site picture. Analyze strategize memorize visual. You have helped me get a stage plan and then shoot it. I have been a high C class revolver shooter. This past Saturday I shot a 64% on roscoes rattle and pushed up into B class. Thank you Steve for all your free help. ;-) Yes, I bought and read two of your books. I hope to one day take your class. You and the people around me have helped me on my journey, thank you

    Excellent Podcast
Steve provides so much content regarding practical pistol shooting. The content from these shows have greatly improved my shooting skills and match performance. I can’t imagine where I would be without his show. This is a must for competitive shooters.

    Beautiful information
So much important information that is given of the podcast, I listen over and over to try and retain all information. I just wished I would’ve found out about these podcasts earlier I’ve only been listening for about a month

    Just listen and see
I enjoy these shows because they get to the point quickly, but are kept interesting beacuse of the music and humor. The podfather breaks down shooting to the basic concepts and these can be practiced at home without live fire.

Knowing what you need to succeed
In all of Steve’s podcast he will explain what you need to be successful in practical shooting. If you follow his instructions you will improve or you are not really doing following his outlines. You must get your head right and know your abilities. If you don’t like your abilities change it with training you can’t change how well you shoot at the match you expect to do great at, you can’t fool yourself. You can lie to yourself but you know the truth too.

    Get to work!
I pulled up the web site to leave a comment about why I listen to this show and there it was in black and white in the second paragraph. “The Truth”. So I can’t tell you what you already know but I can still thank you for sharing it with me. I have all the books and I’m getting out of it what I deserve based on the work I’m putting in. The podcast is a valuable source of balanced content and humor. I use the Van Halen to relax my mental focus and visualize what I’ve learned in order to retain and implement the techniques and strategies you share. Thank you for saving me years of struggle learning for myself what you already know.

    Shooting Podcast With Personality
I don't care about the Van Halen. I've learned a lot listening to this and thankful for an actual personality.

STOP WITH THE EXCESSIVE VAN HALEN ALREADY
I used to listen to this podcast quite a bit but moved away because it became 10% content 90% playing Van Halen clips. I tried again today (started with epsisode back in April 2015) but same thing, low content huge swaths of music clips. Don't get me wrong, I am indeed a Van Halen fan and have seen them in concert 3 times plus own multiple copies of each published recording they have released. But that is not the point. This is supposed to be a show about shooting. The point is that 90% of the content is just playing Van Halen clips, they go on and on and on for three and four minutes accumulating to a huge majority percentage of the content. If I had a way to strip it out and listen to just the content or if the clips were 30 seconds long so he could gather his thoughts that would make this worth listening to again.

Great info if you can stand to listen to it
Steve clearly knows his subject and what he has to offer is gold... BUT you will have to sit through time wasting Van Halen clips, unprofessional dog interruptions, belching into the mike, laughing at his own jokes, bragging about his lack of preparation, and his trolling listeners who have criticized any of the above. It's near unlistenable. If he edited out the crap it would be the best shooting podcast around YMMV.

    Excellent show!
Following Steve Anderson's advice in his books and this podcast has made me a much better shooter. Very entertaining. I love the Van Halen interspersed throughout the podcast. If you want to be a better shooter, listen to Steve, and do what he says!! Get to work!

    Outstanding mental and physical preparation!
If you're looking for a podcast that can actually help you train and prepare for shooting competitions (of just about any kind really) while also being positive and uplifting, this is the show for you! Every show includes some priceless pieces of wisdom that comes from years of shooting USPSA at the very highest levels, and each of these can directly translate to better and more efficient ways to practice and prepare for YOUR next match. The Van Halen is just a side benefit!

Superb advice and a great mood lifter
I have been listening to this podcast for over a year and enjoyed every episode. Steve dispenses great advice on all aspects of mastering the pistol. He provides insights into the mental side of the sport that you won't get anywhere else (except a Lanny Basham clinic). Every episode provides something useful for training. Equally important is the high entertainment value of Steve's commentary and selection of inspirational mood music. This is my second favorite podcast, right after Mark Levin. Steve Anderson is equally educational and far more entertaining. Subscribe and enjoy this family friendly shooting podcast - a show that is refreshingly humble and without hype.

Zen and the Art of Running a Gun
This is a great podcast, very enlightening. It appeals to competitive pistol (and 3-gun) shooters. Steve takes the concepts introduced in Brian Enos's book and relates his journey in the application of those ideas. We, the listeners, become better in the process. He also relates the mindset training developed by Lanny Bassham in such a way that the average shooter can understand it and apply it to their own training at any level. Before I found this podcast my own understanding of subconscious shooting was merely two-dimensional. Steve began to flesh out that kind of higher level shooting. Based on topics and ideas discussed in his podcast I was able to recognize and nurture the kind of shooting that seems to defy the perception of time. Over the course of about 6 months of dry fire practice, live fire drills, reading Bassham's book, and listening to That Shooting Show, I have been able to shoot a pistol to a level I never thought I was capable of shooting. That is after having been a firearms instructor for my agency for over 4 years, and there is still more improvement and growth in my future. This podcast and Steve's own writings have demystified competitive shooting at the national level. This podcast has also taught me a remarkable thing: competitive shooting at the highest levels is available to anyone who's willing to Get To Work.

    Great Podcast!
I was turned onto this podcast last week, and I've listened to no less than 40 episodes so far. Great short, to the point, and insightful shows. Please keep it up, and thanks for the motivation to practice!

    Great stuff
Full disclosure: I am a Brother of the Gun Steve's podcasts are very enlightening. There are great nuggets of info in every one. I just listened to Jan 16 and got re schooled on stuff you'd think, after 10 years, I'd know. You are going to laugh some and learn. Highly recommend to any serious shooter to make these part of your listening.
